Appreciation Card for Stickles Linky Party

Sentiment ^ inside the card

Welcome to the Stickles Linky Party-Appreciation!
Hi All!
My card uses an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, one of our generous August Sponsors.  I loved the free one I received for August and had to go to their site and buy some!  The digital stamp is JJ Block-Bras Are Like Friends.  The image was printed on X-Press paper and colored with Copic Markers!  I embellished the card with Stickles in the following colors: Glam Pink, Firefly, Black Diamond and Crystal.

I paper shaped the hair that I fussy cut and enlarged the chest area of the teddy.  Glossy Accents were used to highlight the lens of the glasses.

I diecut two of the smallest dies of the Spellbinder Nestabilities-Poppy.  The individual one is no longer being sold.  It is being sold in a four pack Nesties Flower B.  I searched for my individual poppy die online and found one for a reasonable price! Yea!  I covered the flowers with Firefly and Glam Pink by spreading the Stickles with my finger.

I also used polka dotted washi tape. The cardstock is from my stash.

Planning to Celebrate!

Happy Saturday!

It's the start of another challenge week at Drunken Stampers!  This week the Challenge is Person: Party Planner (Any Celebration)  Head over to Drunken Stampers (just don't drink and drive) and check out all the Designated Designers creations.  Then enter to become our Life of the Party this week!  We love to see all the fantastic creations you submit!

Well, my person is a touch too thin and pale.  He seems to be enjoying his birthday celebration  although he is a little stiff.  ;=)

The Birthday Skeleton stamp is from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps.  He was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on X-Press paper and colored with Copics .  The other cardstock is from Club Scrap.  I embossed the silver paper with a Tim Holtz Riveted Metal Texture Fade.  I added Firefly Stickles on the hat and tie.  Also, the card was embellished with Card Candi and a Wish Adage Ticket from Tim Holtz.

I added this close-up of the Wish Adage Ticket since you cannot see the sparkle in the photo of the card.  It has been distressed with Pumice Stone and edged with Black Soot Distress Ink.  Then it was  covered with Distress Stickles: Dry Glitter-Clear Rock Candy

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampotique Designers Challenge-SDC112: Polka Dots (dots on hat, Card Candi, and riveted metal)

Crafter's Cafe Challenge #25-Bling and Sparkling Things   Firefly/Yellow Stickles and Distress Dry Glitter-Clear Rock Candy

1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop!

Welcome to the 1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Back to school is just around the corner, and what better way to start off the school year then with a bit of sparkle?! Today the design team is showcasing all sorts of glittery back to school projects that kiddos and teachers will love!

If you've come from Laura's blog, you're in the right place! If you have just come across the hop and would like to start from the beginning, please visit All that Stickles.

For my project, I made a a daily journal (out of a composition book) that a elementary student might enjoy.

Hi All!
I hope you enjoy my Back to School Journal.  I covered the binding of the composition book with black/white polka dot washi tape.  Then I attached pink cardstock with Scor-Tape for a stronger hold than a tape runner.  I distressed the edges of the paper a bit.  The Back to School Girl from the Octopode Factory was colored with Copic Markers on X-press paper.  I added Glam Pink and True Blue Stickles on the girl and Black Diamond Stickles on the edges of the circles.  All paper is from Club Scrap.  The pencil is a royalty free clip art image I colored with Copics. The back of the book is covered with the same pink cardstock.  Coordinating printed paper was used on the inside of the cover.

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday August 21st at All that Stickles.

Beach Dreams

Hi All!

I'm here today with my first card as a Designated Designer for Drunken Stampers!  Our theme is Place: A Beach [Use water, a beach, or the tropics as your theme.]
The challenge runs from August 10th -16th!  Have a few drinks [alcohol or not] and make sure to link your entry at the Drunken Stampers Blog.

The stamp I used is a retired stamp [Summer by the Sea] from Stampin' Up.  I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Copic X-press paper two times and colored the images with Copic markers.  The women's hair, shirt, and man's arm/leg were colored on the first one.  The man pants and hair were colored on the second image.  I stamped the man' s shirt again, on patterned paper.  All of these images were fussy cut...the entire first image, the man, except his arm/leg on the second, lastly the shirt.

The background was watercolor paper which had been colored with Tim Holtz Distress Stains [Chipped Sapphire and Broken China] and then distressed around the edge with Broken China Distress Ink. Two pieces of 100 grit sandpaper [I think it really looks like sand] were torn and distressed...and the first piece was attached to the background.  The complete image was added on the sandpaper and the second piece of sandpaper was placed over to cover part of the man's foot.  The 2nd image...man's pants, shirt and hair were placed over the first.  The last piece added was the shirt.  [I didn't like that the shirt was higher than the man's hair so I stamped and colored another head and added on top of the other one.]  The word Dream [from my stash] was distressed and stapled, using the Tiny Attacher, to the background.  Next time, I'll hopefully remember to take photos of the steps when needed...it would have helped here.

I hope you enjoy all the Designated Designers' cards and have a Tropical Hooter on us!

Have a fantastic week,
Team Tropical Hooters

Drunken Stampers Designed Designers

Hi All!

Check this out:  Day 3 ~ Getting to know our new Drunken Stampers Designated Designers.

You'll get to know a little about me in this post.  I'm a member of The Tropical Hooters Team for Drunken Stampers!

My team, The Tropical Hooters, will design projects for the even numbered challenges starting on August 10th.

All of our challenges this time around are going to be based on either a person, place or thing…and you will always have options for the challenges.

Drunken Stampers Challenge #135 starts today,
Aug. 3-Person: Athlete (Use any sport as your inspiration.)  Go to the Drunken Stampers Blog to play!  Have a blast and a beer on me!

I had to!  I had to play along with our Challenge #135-Person:Athlete since I had the perfect athlete...Clara!   She loves to jog, but she takes a break to have a Margarita!  The full description is in my post:  Margarita and Salt!

Margaritas and Salt!

Hi All!

I'm so excited to announce I've been selected to join the All That Stickles Design Team!!!  I wanted to spill the beans, not the margarita, but I had to wait!  The challenge is ANYTHING GOES and runs from Saturday, August 3rd until Friday, August 16-11:00 pm (CST-US).

We're beginning to enjoy summer again in Wisconsin, as the temperatures are finally back in the high 70's to 80's.  Summer reminds me of ice cold margaritas near a pool...definitely no jogging allowed!

This card uses Frosted Lace Stickles for the salt on the Margarita glasses!  Thanks Vicki B. for suggesting it a few weeks ago. Frosted Lace is perfect! The Clara stamp, Margarita Glass, and the Falling Ice  saying are from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps. The cardstock is Tim Holtz Kraft Distress Core'dinations embossed using Retro Cirque Texure Fade by Tim Holtz.  Clara and the Margarita Glass were stamped on X-press paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copics.
I entering her in Repeat Impressions-Challenge DCC7331~Water Element--I don't know if Clara in a swimsuit and ice in her glass counts, but maybe?
